Best of the Blogosphere: Transit Agencies, Tax Freedom Day, Alcohol Taxes, and Tax Holidays vs. TARP

- Michelle Chen of Viewsday, a blog from the opinion staff of Newsday, posts on the "Sale-In Lease-Out" (SILO) deals that have now put many city transit agencies on the verge of default, a subject Tax Counsel Joseph Henchman has been working on. Chen notes that "while public transit agencies may act as if they didn’t see trouble ahead when they brokered their contracts, they have at least found a safe and familiar road to Washington."
