New York Governor Tackles Unfunded Mandates

New York Governor David Paterson (D) signs an executive order requiring all bills to outline any costs they impose and how they pay for them. He hopes this will help target unfunded mandates, which are one cause of high property taxes in the state. He also hopes the Legislature will follow his lead.
