State and Local Budgets and Spending
From its founding in 1937, the Tax Foundation has been grounded in the belief that the dissemination of basic information about government finance is the foundation of sound policy in a free society. The State and Local Budgets and Spending section provides key state-by-state budget and spending data to enable both policymakers and the general public to achieve greater understanding of the over 89,000 state and local government entities in the United States.
