Rothenberg says Ohio Democrats may be better suited to run on that message due to the GOP's longstanding lock on statewide offices amid rising state and local taxes. The Tax Foundation, a Washington-based group, released a study earlier this year that said Ohio has seen its state and local tax burden rise to the third-highest in the nation.
