What do Westchester & Nassau County have in common?
Westchester is number one and Nassau is number two, and its not a good thing.
The two counties are the highest in the nation in property taxes. The US Census Bureau says of the top 35 taxed counties -- more than half are in New York.
Westchester County has the highest property taxes in the nation. Nassau is second. Hunterdon, Bergen and Essex counties in New Jersey are next. Rockland County is sixth highest in the country. The study ranked the 775 most populated counties in the United States.
