KTUU-TV -- 'Alaskans have little reason to gripe on tax day'

“'Once again, Alaska ranks the lowest overall tax burden in the nation, far below any other state of all the 50 states,' said Scott Hodge of the Tax Foundation.

"That conclusion comes from the Tax Foundation, a Washington, D.C., group that calculates when Americans get their “Tax Freedom Day,” the day when residents have earned enough money to pay off their total tax bill for the year, including federal, state and local taxes. In its report, the foundation says Tax Freedom Day for the nation is April 17, but for Alaska it's April 2."
