Minneapolis Star-Tribune -- 'Getting past the gridlock'

"The average Minnesotan must work the first 108 days of the year -- until April 18 -- to pay his or her federal, state and local taxes, according to the national Tax Foundation. In other words, Minnesotans must spend nearly a third of the year working for the government before they start working for themselves and their families."
