WHOI 19 -- It's Tax Freedom Day
Sunday was "Tax Freedom Day", but unfortunately it doesn't mean you're free from paying taxes on this day. It's the day Illinois residents have earned enough money to pay all their income taxes for the year. The non-profit group Tax Foundation did the calculations. Those of you who haven't been setting aside tax money each month still have some saving to do. But a few people said they are ready to start spending. Tax Freedom Day isn't the same for every state. It depends on income and cost of living.
