"Will County: The Land of High Property Taxes"

Congratulations, Will County residents, you pay some of the country's highest property taxes.
If the annual bill from the treasurer isn't painful enough, a Washington, D.C., think tank issued a report Monday that showed county homeowners pay a median of $4,488 in property taxes each year. That ranked 32nd out of 1,800 counties surveyed.
Using recent U.S. Census data, the nonpartisan Tax Foundation determined that property taxes represent 5.6 percent of Will County's median income of $80,157. Only 38 counties nationwide see a higher percentage.
