Des Moines Register Cites State Business Tax Climate Index in Story on Tax Legislation
"Tax Bill's Effect on Business Climate Unclear"

The Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan tax research group in Washington, D.C., ranked Iowa 44th in its 2009 State Business Tax Climate Index released in October.
"Iowa's 12 percent corporate income tax bracket qualifies for the worst ranking among states that levy one," the report said.
The state lets corporations deduct up to 50 percent of their federal taxes, a provision that wouldn't change under the proposed bill.
