Washington Post -- 'Louisiana Alcohol Taxes Low'

"Louisiana taxed beer, wine and hard alcohol at different rates in 2004, and only the rate on beer _ about 32 cents per gallon _ was higher than most other states. The beer rate was 23rd highest rate overall, according to the nonprofit Tax Foundation, based in Washington, D.C."
