Laurie "Carter" DeWitt is the Director of Development for the Tax Foundation. Working to support the foundation and all its varied research projects, she oversees all fund development including grants, private donations, corporate partnerships and annual events. Previously serving as the Charities Manager for the Sun Sentinel, Fort Lauderdale, she has experience on both sides of the philanthropic coin—as a funder and as a fund developer. She has also served as Communications Director for the Jacksonville Community Council Inc., Jacksonville, Florida, a citizen's think tank and advocacy nonprofit organization, and as Communications Director for Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, one of the largest Episcopal Churches in the nation.
